We are seeking a Data Engineer to work on a team at our client site in Newport Beach, CA. The role is W2 hourly with Roth Staffing, with all work taking place for our client. No 3rd party candiates will be accepted.

We're actively seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our client's team in Newport Beach, CA. We are looking for self-starters to help shape the future of data engineering and drive data-driven success.

As a Data Engineer you'll move our client, and your career forward by leading the delivery & support of data engineering products that enable our Finance business teams to be more data-driven. These data solutions will capture, manage, store and utilize structured and semi-structured data from internal and external sources including Finance, Sales, Underwriting, Policy Admin, Claim and other core business areas.

How you'll help move us forward:

Partnering with data architects, analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions in an effective manner.

  • Build scalable & reliable solutions with robust security, quality, performance, and governance protocols
  • Deliver solutions aligned with modern target state architecture and cloud-based technologies
  • Create and maintain design artifacts that support data engineering solutions
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and agile methodologies.
  • Ensure data engineering standards and best practices are followed
  • Demonstrate adaptability, initiative and attention to detail through deliverables and ways of working

The experience you bring:

    1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, analytics or related field.
    2. 4+ years of relevant experience in analysis, design, development, and delivery of data
    3. 4+ years of experience and proficiency in SQL, ETL, ELT, leading cloud data warehouse technologies, and data management tools
    4. Understanding data engineering best practices and data integration patterns
    5. 2+ years of experience with DevOps and CI/CD
    6. Effective communication & facilitation; both verbal and written
    7. Team-Oriented: Collaborating effectively with team and stakeholders
    8. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with ability to break down complex data solutions

What makes you stand out:

    1. Ability & experience leading DataOps/DevOps team that include release, deploy, operate and monitor data products
    2. 1+ years of experience in Snowflake, Data Build Tool (DBT), & Matillion
    3. Experience with automation, optimization and innovation in data management and batch cycle environments
    4. Financial services domain knowledge
    5. Data driven individual with ability to set up effective processes in your sphere of ownership
    6. Strong communication with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
    7. Experience delivering Finance domain data engineering solutions
    8. Experience with Control M orchestration tool

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Must Have

* 2+ years of experience with DevOps and CI/CD

* 4+ years of experience and proficiency in SQL, ETL, ELT, leading cloud data warehouse technologies, and data management tools

* 4+ years of relevant experience in analysis, design, development, and delivery of data

Nice To Have

* 1+ years of experience in Snowflake, Data Build Tool (DBT), & Matillion

* Experience delivering Finance domain data engineering solutions

* Experience with automation, optimization and innovation in data management and batch cycle environments

* Experience with Control M orchestration tool

* Financial services domain knowledge
